A prefilled pod is a small, sealed cartridge that clicks into a battery. It arrives filled at the factory, so you never open a bottle. Inside, it has the same working parts as any vape, just packed into a smaller space.
The reservoir holds the e-liquid. In a prefilled pod it's sealed, which is why the flavour and strength are fixed by the maker and why there's nothing to top up.
The wick sits inside the reservoir, drawing liquid toward the coil. Most wicks are cotton or a cotton blend.
The wick matters more than it looks. It keeps the coil supplied with liquid, and a clean draw depends on it staying saturated.
The coil is the heating element. When you draw, the battery sends power through it, it heats up, and the liquid in the wick turns to vapour.
In most prefilled pods, the coil is designed to last as long as the e-liquid, so the pod wears out as a unit rather than needing any part replaced.
The contacts are small metal points on the base of the pod. They connect the coil to the battery. Clean, dry contacts are what make a pod fire reliably.
Around the coil, there's usually a small chamber where the vapour forms before it's drawn up through the mouthpiece. The size of that chamber, and the airflow through it, shapes how dense each puff feels.
The mouthpiece is usually part of the pod itself, which means a fresh mouthpiece arrives with every new pod.

Each pack holds three 2mL pods of 20 mg/mL nicotine salt, made with a hybrid formula that blends freebase nicotine and nicotine salt for a stronger throat hit. Why put a battery inside a pod? It lets the pod work as a light, standalone device when you don't want to carry the larger battery. Why leave it out, as POP pods do? It keeps each pod small and simple, with all the electronics in the device you keep.
What does "hybrid formula" mean, exactly? Freebase nicotine gives a more noticeable throat hit; nicotine salt feels smoother at higher strengths. A hybrid blends the two, aiming for a salt's smoothness with some of the throat sensation some people miss from cigarettes.
Which suits you? If you already own one of the compatible STLTH-platform devices, POP pods give you a wide flavour choice for it. If you're starting from scratch and want one system that works both docked and on its own, the Switch Pod makes more sense. POP pods on their own aren't much use without a compatible device, so check the list before ordering.
How long do they last? That depends on the design. A 2mL pod is a short-run cartridge, and a pack of three gives you variety. A 20mL pod rated at 45,000 puffs is a long-run one.
How do you know when a pod is finished? With a small pod, the flavour thins and the draw starts to feel dry. With a larger pod on a device with modes, the same signs apply; stop there rather than trying to draw out the last few puffs, which can scorch the wick.
On strength: both are 20 mg/mL, the maximum concentration allowed for vaping products in Canada.
A few care habits keep pods working. Keep the contacts clean and dry. Store spare pods sealed in their packaging until you need them. Don't leave pods in a freezing vehicle; cold e-liquid wicks slowly and can taste harsh.
